What's on at Reading Minster Festival 2013...



Festival of Flowers, Saturday 29 –Sunday 30 June (10:00 -16:00)


To commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Coronation of Elizabeth II, Berkshire flower arranging groups and churches are creating floral displays which will form part of the Festival of Flowers in Reading Minster – part of this year's Reading Minster Festival. The floral displays will be judged by Reading's premier florists, Cherubs Floral Design. Admission is £2.

Lunchtime Organ Recital – Reading Minster Festival

Take some time out of your busy day and come and listen to some sublime organ music in the beautiful surroundings of Reading Minster.

Admission on the door is £2.  All proceeds go towards the restoration of the Minster’s historic 1862 Henry Willis pipe organ.

Jazz Mass – Reading Minster Festival    

Join the congregation of Reading Minster for a communion service with a swing! 

This service will include a jazz-setting of the mass, jazzed-up hymns and a jazz band.  Admission is free, with a retiring collection for the organ restoration project.

Julie McKee Jazz Duo and Flower demonstration – Reading Minster Festival  

Julie McKee, a London-based singer-songwriter-pianist will be performing an evening of light jazz classics in the beautiful and atmospheric setting of Reading’s historic Minster. During the evening there will be a flower arranging demonstration by Cherubs Floral Design. She will be joined by bassist, Andrew Milloy.

Painted Pipes: Family Workshop – Reading Minster Festival

painted pipesThis workshop offers a chance for you and your children to explore the historic pipe organ in Reading Minster and will include painting a wooden organ pipe to take away and hearing the organ.  Suitable for children aged 5-11. 

The workshop will be led by Peter West, Director of Music at Reading Minster.

The workshop costs £4 for each child (no charge for accompanying adults).
